The Singapore Mint

I came upon the Simgapore Mint website and saw a few interesting coins that they produced to feature the architectural designs of two key pedestrian bridges at the Southern Ridges: the 80m long Alexandra Arch across Alexandra Road which connects to the 1.6km long elevated walkway leading to Telok Blangah Hill Park; and the 274m long Henderson Waves, which spans across Henderson Road to connect Telok Blangah Hill Park to Mount Faber Park. I find the coins quite nice and each of it has its own sentimental and historical value. Read on... :)

The 47 hectare Kent Ridge Park boasts a heritage trail with a 280m long canopy walk amidst the lush greenery. Also located at the Park is the Reflections at Bukit Chandu Museum, built in memory of our brave warriors who fought one of the last battles of Singapore here during World War II, and to recount the history of Singapore during the war.
Depicted on the coin is the Reflections at Bukit Chandu Museum, with a group of visiting school children and teachers. The Park’s heritage trail, which is popular with nature lovers and fitness enthusiasts, is also featured on the coin.

At 105m above sea-level, Mount Faber is Singapore’s second highest hill after Bukit Timah Hill. Also one of the oldest parks in Singapore, Mount Faber is a popular leisure destination where visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the southern part of Singapore and the southern islands, or ride on a cable car to Sentosa.
The coin features a beautiful creation atop the hill, namely the attractively adorned Jewel Box Station, where visitors board the cable cars or stop by for food and refreshments at the restaurants and cafes inside. The familiar cable cars across the skyline are in the background.

The 16.8 hectare Labrador Nature Reserve is home to the Labrador Park. With its World War II relics, it is an oasis of tranquillity and nature’s wonder that offers a picturesque view of the sea.
Featured on the coin are the two most recognizable symbols at the Park, namely, the Berlayer Red Beacon and a replica of the Dragon’s Teeth Gate, both of which were navigational aids to Asian and early European sailors and traders for hundreds of years sailing past Singapore. Also depicted is the Labrador Jetty, a favourite spot for anglers and those who simply enjoy watching cruise ships sail past.

Telok Blangah Hill Park is a historical place of gathering for trading communities who flourished at the site since the early 19th century. The prosperity of the traders is symbolized by Alkaff Mansion – an elegant colonial bungalow built by an Arab trader to entertain guests of different races. Another key feature of the Park is the Terrace Garden, a popular spot for wedding couples and where one can enjoy a panoramic 360-degree view of Singapore.
The coin captures the grandeur of Alkaff Mansion surrounded by the serenity of the Terrace Garden with its semi-circled terraces decked with lovely bougainvilleas in full bloom.

YUMMY YUM!!

This morning when I was surfing the net, I saw this photo of a huge burger. It made me drool when I think of the burgers and fries that I always love to eat from the various fast food restaurants. So... I decided to make a picture out of it.. Enjoy! (Watch out for your saliva! hehe)

Volkswagen Annual Dinner & Dance 2007

These are some nice pictures that me and my few colleagues took during our D&D this year. Well, this year-end Annual Dinner & Dance was supposed to be held end of last year but due to having most of the people on home leave and holiday, it was postponed to early this year 2008 instead. Year-end dinner held on early this year, isn't that irony? Haha, I guess we are having another round this year end! The theme for the dinner & dance was "Las Vegas". We were supposed to dress like some of the TV stars. A group of us decided to make a mask and wear it on that day. Me and this colleague, also named "Geraldine":P met up and made the mask(as you can see right above, aren't we creative?? heheh!) I enjoyed the time we made the mask and the day itself because we had a great deal of fun taking fotos, eating, dancing and luffing throughout the whole night! It didn't just stop just like that, we went to KBOX at Cineleisure after that!! haha happening right?? That is definitely my happiest moment in my 3 years in Volkswagen!!

Toilet -- My best Friend!

I had a bad diarrhea last week after I ate this "Ma La" steamboat at Chinatown. The soup is like super shiok la, hot and spicy which makes it so so nice! However there's a price to pay man!! I ran to the toilet several times the next day. It started at 7.15am which ended at around 9am and in this short period of time, the toilet bowl has become my best friend for that day. I refused to leave the toilet because the minute I stand up, I can feel that I have some more to clear. (you know what I mean la haha) I was thinking of just staying in the toilet the rest of my day to clear my bowel system. This has not only caused me to be late for work but also make my whole body turn wobbly and weak. I feel as if I have lost few kgs of weight haha. It din just stopped there, I was still running to toilet when I reached the office. Indeed, tt had become my best friend for that day! Lol!
