I woke up early thinking that I can be early at work today. Left house at around 8.10am which is 15mins earlier than usual BUT upon reaching the station, i realised that I forgot to bring my wallet which contain my ez-link card. I must have overlooked it while repacking into another bag. And there and then, I went back home to pick up my wallet and walked back to the station again. It was 8.30am and that is my usual time to reach the station every morning which I am still able to reach office on time or only 5 mins late... Little did I expect that there was a faulty train at Hougang station which is 1 stop before Kovan. They took around 10 mins to clear out the train at Hougang before sending trains towards Kovan. As you can see, the train was crowded and I could only manage to board the 3rd arriving train. It was 8.45pm! I reached outram at 9.05am but decided to take a cab since I was late. Finally, I reached office at 9.12am...Can you imagine a morning like this to start your day?? Hai...
P.S.: Felt as if i just finished a marathon...

Take home chef
I was kind of bored at home last sat so I decided to whip up some dish for my lunch as I was too lazy to da pao and also to save $$ during this recession period!! I was having the craving for pasta (Yes always.. (",)) and I suddenly thot of Cafe Cartel's Pan-fried Macaroni so here's Chef Foo at work...
Ingredients needed
Pasta
1 Carrot
Few dried mushrooms
1 Tomato
1 Barbeque sauce
1 Peri-peri hot chilli sauce from "Nandos"
1 Egg
Step 1:
Wash the dried mushroom and soak in a bowl of water for around few minutes. After that, boil the mushroom. Next, use the same pot to cook the spagetti.
Step 2:
Cut the remaining ingredients, carrot and tomato. Beat the egg in a bowl and put all the ingredients in a bowl. Now its ready to be cooked!

Pour some olive oil onto the pan. Let it be heated for awhile before putting in the mushroom, carrot and tomato. Fry it over medium heat until all the food settle. Pour in the barbeque and peri-peri hot chilli sauce into the pan. Stir fry it for about 5-10mins. Next, add in the eggs, mix it with the other ingredients and continue to fry for the next 10mins until the egg turn golden brown. Lastly, put in the spagetti and fry together with the mixture until it is well mixed and cooked.
And the dish is out!! Look, does it look appealing and delicious? haha. Finally, round it up with a cup of coke and its done!

The taste is not bad but just that there are too many mushrooms and carrot for this plate of pasta that I bite until my whole mouth was tired.. haha. Therefore, I have to learn to have a proper estimation of the portion of these ingrdients. In addition, I should have first fried the egg until half-cooked then add on the rest of the ingredients. In this way, it will not be as messy as shown in the picture above. Well, all I can say that it is quite a good attempt :) I will do beter next time!! :) Yeah!

Dramatic day --> Once Lost, Am found...
A letter to McDonald...
Hi Sir/Madam,
I would like to express my gratitude to one of your staff and the team working in Great World City Macdonald branch. They have helped me to retrieve back my purse. This is how the story goes.
After having lunch with my colleagues at the restaurant, I conveniently left my purse on the table and left the place. I only realised that I have lost my purse about 20 minutes later. Therefore I quickly went back to ask about my purse. Immediately, they went to search the dustbin and look at the video taken down by the CCTV. Unfortunately, they could not find it. However I refused to give up so we went back the second time and asked them if we can search the trashbag ourselves. Without any hestitation, one of the staff (I assumed that she is the supervisor there), Jasmine asked one of the staff to bring us to the backlane to do the searching. She was so nice to ask the staff to do the digging on behalf of us so that we would not dirty our hands and instead we just stood by the side looking out for the purse. To our second disappointment, the purse was still nowhere to be found. Nevertheless, Jasmine suggested that I leave my contact details and some descriptions of my purse with them so in any case they found it, they will contact me.
To my great delight, they called me half an hour later and told me that my purse was found in another dustbin. I was very impressed by their services as they actually took the initiative and great effort/time just to look for my purse again. In the whole episode of searching, they assisted me without any single complain or expressing any dismay on their face and I would think that most people would not actually go all the way just to help and would just let the matter rest. Therefore, I want to applaud for their great services.
On behalf of myself, please commend them for being such a great help and providing an astounding services. Thanks.
Lesson learnt: Never to be careless again and always keep a lookout of own belongings everywhere you go...
Thank God for helping me to get back my purse!!!

24.08.2008
It's been sometime since I blogged and maybe I am too lazy or there is nothing or too many things to blog about... Its been a roller coaster weeks and I can officially declare that I am REALLY stepping into adulthood. Haha, weird huh? But this doesn't mean that the old "crazy and funny" Geraldine is gone cos this is still part of my character. hehe! ;) What I meant is that it is time for me to get more mature in certain areas of my life; no more a junior in my company, the need to get more and more serious with my work so that my boss will not need to handhold me;a leader who can lead my sheep well in terms of balancing the way I relate to them when I joke and get serious with(haha this sounds scary ah?? have you met a serious Geraldine before?? lol!) I had a few chances to work with some teens/youth in church and I was even approached to mentor one of the youth! I was joking with Mel that it might be a stepping stone for me to join the youth ministry in the near future... It is quite interesting to work with them but maybe it is because I tend to show that I am a "chin chai" person that they almost climb over my head so therefore I want to be firm when need be. I am also going into another phase of adulthood dealing with stuff like finance, relationship and even for my future... I am starting to get a better understanding of what are the different type of insurance, savings plan and even investment which I feel that that needs proper planning and thinking. It is no longer a "depend" on mummy to decide. I have to make certain important decision in my life now! All these things seem to be very overwhelming and one cannot lean on his own understanding and strength. This is when we need God to come in to guide us... However, I feel that we cannot just speak without action. We also need to spend enough time with God reading His word so that we are able to know Him personally and to be the "Jesus" first christian. Nowadays, whenever situation happen, I will ask myself this qns "If Jesus was here, what will he do?" This makes me have a better understanding of the problem that I am facing and I am able to appease my anger and change my assumption... Even though there's a lot of ups and downs in life, I want to thank God for every single thing that He has blessed me. Those are things that I do not want to take granted of and why make life so miserable when we have a BIG God? Instead of telling others how big your problem is, why not tell others how BIG our God is? Like what today's sermon had said, let's continue to have the fighting spirit and the perseverance while training under pressure! AMEN!

The Grandma "operation"
Just got back from the longest Sunday dinner not long ago. It ended around 9.30pm and which normally will end before 9pm so as to catch C.S.I in AXN. We have an important mission today that is to share testimonials to my grandma and at the same time convincing her to get baptised. We are not trying to force her because in her mind she had already decided to get baptized except that there are some thoughts in her mind that caused her to be a bit confused. Its a joyful sight to see all of my aunties, uncle and my mummy sharing the gospel with my grandma. I thank God for letting my aunties and mum to know about Him and this will not happen without His great intervention and timing! My grandma finally agreed to be baptized on the 30th August in our church! Praise the Lord! It is worth the praying and all the effort put in! It is so amazing how God uses people for different purpose and in His timing! I pray that God will continue to guard my grandma's heart and that she is able to find peace in Him. Pray that God will remove any confusion or worries in her, AMEN! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED:)

NDP Preview 2008
By God's blessing, me and mel manage to get the ticket from mel gan to the NDP preview at the Marina Bay today! It was our first NDP show together as a couple and the feeling was really different haha. This was my first time watching NDP in Marina bay apart from the several times I had in Kallang stadium last many years... It was a spectacular show today especially the bombastic firework that is in front of my eyes, the highlight of the day!! It was so nice and romantic. :) I was also in awed by the display of the Black Knights and the various aircraft performance. The Black Knights drew a "Heart" in the sky which I thought that was really a job well done. The goodie bag is also quite cool. It is a recycled bag with cool stuff like a big air glove(which we give Hi-5 to each other using that), big packet of crackers, shopping vouchers, Singapore flag etc... I really enjoyed myself tonight and seeing all the different people coming together to celebrate national day reminds me the word "UNITY". It is this that brings all of us together as One People, One Nation, One Singapore. This is what God will want to see us as christian, to be united and bring people to His kingdom so as to bring glory to His name! I pray that Singapore will continue to prosper, pray for a good government, the compassion in us for the poor and needy and also to claim all the salvations of the people in Singapore. AMEN!
p.s.:will be posting all nice fotos taken today soon so stay tuned...(",)

Sickly me!
I was on MC the whole day today and it felt really good just to "nua" at home. I literally slept the whole day and not doing anything else. (really felt like a pig man haha lol!!) Even though I have slept a lot, I am still feeling weak and sleepy! I guess this is to make up for my late nights I had for the past few days and not to mention the medicine that I ate made me feel drowsy also... I was not feeling well since yesterday when I felt the acute pain in my head nearing to the end of the tour in the Garden Exhibition with my family. Not wanting to be a wet blanket to my mother and sister, I went home myself after that. When I reached home at 4.30pm, I slept all the way to 7plus in the evening. I thought I will feel better after the long nap but it got worsen. My headache got more painful, I vomitted and my tears just came rolling down. It was a terrible feeling that I cried out desperately for God's healing. I really thank God for mel who sent me to the doctor and miraculously, I felt much better after seeing the doctor (mel's presence also makes a diff la ahaha) Praise the Lord!

40 Days Prayer and Fasting
I have been fasting meals for the past 2 weeks and I must say "so far so good". I have told God that from tomorrow onwards, I am going to fast MSN during working hours which is from 9am-6pm for this week. I guess it would be a bit tough but I have faith in myself and I am going to depend on God because I know I can't do this all by myself. Therefore if you did not see me online, please do not miss me too much haha! I will try to be online at night but it depends on my mood hahah. Anyway, continue to press on and fast for the nation. Take this time and pray for Singapore, your friends, family and yourself! Flee from temptation when you need to! 26 days more!!!

Hear the footsteps and you will know...
It is quite amazing that I can recognise who the person is by hearing their footsteps. I guess I have gotten used to people walking past me in the office everyday. It takes time and training to do that ok haha! The reason behind it is due to the strict culture in our office; we are not suppose to do any personal stuff during office hours which include simple things like checking own email, surfing the internet, msn etc... I think everyone in the office are doing it in a discreet way such that they will not get caught and I am one of them hee hee... Because of this, I have to be cautious of who is walking past or behind me. This has trained me up by listening to the footsteps so that I will know that I need to switch screen when my Director, Boss or Supervisor walking pass me. Recently I found myself bingo in almost every guesses I made and I am really proud of myself man haha (luffing to myself). Anyway, I told myself that I should try not to do it again la cos I know that it is so call against the "office law" to do my personal things and I am stealing office time which is not very ethical and nice...but well I will try my best... :)

Dealing with Discouragement
Hope it speaks to anyone of you reading this post now...
"Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God."
— Psalm 42:11
It is not unusual for even the most spiritual people to have their days of doubt. Moses, on one occasion at least, was overwhelmed by his circumstances. After he had listened to the constant complaining of the children of Israel, he basically told the Lord, "I'm fed up. Just kill me. I don't want to deal with this another day."
Elijah, after his contest with the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel, heard that Jezebel had put a contract out on his life. He was so overwhelmed by his circumstances, so discouraged, so uncertain, and so filled with doubt that he said to God, "Take my life."
Even the great apostle Paul had moments when he was discouraged. He wrote to the church at Corinth, "We were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life" (2 Corinthians 1:8).Jeremiah, the great prophet, faced it as well. He was ridiculed and harassed for giving out the Word of God. Because he was tired of the pressure he was facing, it made him want to stop giving out God's Word altogether. He said, "The word of the Lord was made to me a reproach and a derision daily. Then I said, 'I will not make mention of Him, nor speak anymore in His name' " (Jeremiah 20:8–9).
You are not the only one who has ever faced doubt or uncertainty, or has been perplexed as to why God did not work in a certain way. We may be in the midst of God's work and can't see the big picture as He can

A double edged sword and a deadly weapon
Been feeling quite gloomy for the past few days.. It meant a great deal to me when 2 persons whom I hold quite a high esteem in my life were insensitive in their words in relating to me. Its like in the RPG game when you are under a great attack, your MP and LP will decrease drastically. I was greatly affected by the 2 of them and it really hurts me. Indeed, our mouth is a double edged sword and a deadly weapon. If you are not sensitive in delivering words to the other party, it might scarred them the whole life. Words that contain sarcasm and full of condemnation is no joke. I am not saying that we can only use nice words on people but different people react differently. Some people just need the hard way but it really really depends on oneself... I have been holding on to my tears a few times and had gotten over it. I guess it has been building up in me and imagine a cup with too much water, it overflows. This is how i felt, I know I can't contain it anymore till I think I should release it. I really feel much better after that. I thank God for giving me the hug and comfort at that moment. Life still needs to go on and I need to move on. Look on the bright side and you will see rainbow in your life.
I am really thankful for mel who is always standing by my side, comforting and encouraging me through this period. Hope it is not too tough on you cos this is all I need...
Just want to sign off by saying that I have forgiven the 2 of them not by my might but with His strength and thru His grace...

The Singapore Mint
I came upon the Simgapore Mint website and saw a few interesting coins that they produced to feature the architectural designs of two key pedestrian bridges at the Southern Ridges: the 80m long Alexandra Arch across Alexandra Road which connects to the 1.6km long elevated walkway leading to Telok Blangah Hill Park; and the 274m long Henderson Waves, which spans across Henderson Road to connect Telok Blangah Hill Park to Mount Faber Park. I find the coins quite nice and each of it has its own sentimental and historical value. Read on... :)
The 47 hectare Kent Ridge Park boasts a heritage trail with a 280m long canopy walk amidst the lush greenery. Also located at the Park is the Reflections at Bukit Chandu Museum, built in memory of our brave warriors who fought one of the last battles of Singapore here during World War II, and to recount the history of Singapore during the war.Depicted on the coin is the Reflections at Bukit Chandu Museum, with a group of visiting school children and teachers. The Park’s heritage trail, which is popular with nature lovers and fitness enthusiasts, is also featured on the coin.
At 105m above sea-level, Mount Faber is Singapore’s second highest hill after Bukit Timah Hill. Also one of the oldest parks in Singapore, Mount Faber is a popular leisure destination where visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the southern part of Singapore and the southern islands, or ride on a cable car to Sentosa. The coin features a beautiful creation atop the hill, namely the attractively adorned Jewel Box Station, where visitors board the cable cars or stop by for food and refreshments at the restaurants and cafes inside. The familiar cable cars across the skyline are in the background.
The 16.8 hectare Labrador Nature Reserve is home to the Labrador Park. With its World War II relics, it is an oasis of tranquillity and nature’s wonder that offers a picturesque view of the sea.Featured on the coin are the two most recognizable symbols at the Park, namely, the Berlayer Red Beacon and a replica of the Dragon’s Teeth Gate, both of which were navigational aids to Asian and early European sailors and traders for hundreds of years sailing past Singapore. Also depicted is the Labrador Jetty, a favourite spot for anglers and those who simply enjoy watching cruise ships sail past.
The coin captures the grandeur of Alkaff Mansion surrounded by the serenity of the Terrace Garden with its semi-circled terraces decked with lovely bougainvilleas in full bloom.
